Day 7 Spiritual Blocks to Healing - Unforgiveness

Yesterday we looked at Bitterness and how that negatively impacts our health. If Bitterness continues it can develop into Unforgiveness. We are now in a very bad situation. We have illness developing in our body through our bitter thoughts and we have cut ourselves off from healing prayers though our unforgiveness.

Yes, unforgiveness can block our prayers, including our prayers for healing for ourselves or others. Jesus says “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop.” Mark11:25-26 AMPC

Unforgiveness impacts our love for others, and since faith works by love (Galatians 5:6) unforgiveness can impact our faith for healing. When Jesus healed while He was here on earth, he forgave people of their sins. The power that forgives is the power that heals. With Jesus as our example, let’s forgive others and receive answers to our prayers and healing to our body.

The Be In Health organization lists Unforgiveness as the biggest block to receiving healing and that a person can go no further in their healing until they forgive. https://www.beinhealth.com/blocks-to-healing-1/

Forgiveness is one of the main themes of Jesus’ teaching and His life. As he died on the cross, he prayed, “Forgive them, they know not what they do.”

Charles Spurgeon said, “Unless you have forgiven others, you read your own death warrant when you repeat the Lord’s Prayer – Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who have sinned against us.” With an understanding of the impacts to the body, we see the truth of this statement.

Day 7 Challenge:  We will continue yesterday’s challenge by adding a fourth step. Forgive everyone for everything using the steps below:

Step 1: Admit the pain that has been caused.

Step 2: Pray and release the pain to God.

Step 3: Step out of the judge’s seat and let God be there.

Step 4: Stop thinking about the bad things that were done to you. As the Amplified version of the Bible says  in Mark 11:25-26 ”Forgive, let it drop, leave it, and let it go”.

Remember, forgiveness is not an emotion, it’s a decision that we may need to make a hundred times a day, until it develops into a lifestyle.
