Aging Gracefully Challenge - Day 7 - Know God, Stay Strong!

Yesterday we looked at how being joyful gives us strength. Today we will look at how knowing God gives strength.

KNOWING GOD KEEPS YOU STRONG

In Daniel 11:32, in the context of the Anti-Christ coming to power, Daniel writes “but the people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits.” We want to carry out great exploits! We want to "take our mountain". To do that, we must know God

If you know God, He gives you strength. His Spirit lives at your core. You have access to the supernatural power of God to accomplish whatever He calls you to do. Our greatest need is to know God. There are many ways we know God – through Christ, through God’s Word, through nature, but today’s challenge will be to know God through worshiping Him.

Through worship we see God as He is: all-powerful, ever-present, and all-knowing. His immensity fills us with wonder and awe, and our hearts esteem Him as we marvel at His greatness. It is this mindset that builds up our inner man and restores our souls. Worship truly imparts strength” - Harold Vaughan

Day 7 Task – WORSHIP – Set aside three ten-minute times throughout the day to worship God. You may want to go out into nature and see the beauty He has created. You may want to play worship music, read His Word, or just sit quietly alone with Him. Whatever fills you with awe and reference for our Creator.

AND IF YOU DON’T KNOW CHRIST
The first step to knowing God is to know Christ, because Christ, being God in the flesh, connects us to God and sends God’s Spirit to live in us. I love this quote “Those of us who invite God's Spirit to live in the core of our being and to express Christ through us - body, soul and spirit - become linked forever with God.” ― Hugh Ross. And linked with God is what we need!

If you don’t know Christ and you would like to, pray this “Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sins and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Fill me with your spirit. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.” It’s that simple.
